Proud of being black?

Since Laila has started making videos on YouTube it has been obvious that people are fixated on her heritage and have questioned her about her being mixed because of her hair.

This fixation on her heritage is one in a million things I have noticed when it comes to black people. It seems as though people do not want to connect positive things with being black.
A black person having “nice” hair, thick and long hair= a mixed person. This is not true. To clarify, Laila is fully black, both of her parents are black.

I don’t know about you but I am proud to be black and I know I can speak for Laila on this occasion too.

A lot of people need to look into themselves when they question a persons race just because the physical attributes don’t fit in with what they perceive a black person to be.

Why can’t we be proud to be black people and embrace the differences within our race?

We need to be more positive about ourselves for other races to speak about us in a positive light. It starts from the home people.
